"The Samurai" Print

This is a handmade Linocut print based on the woodblock print by master of the warrior woodblock Utagawa Kuniyoshi (1798-1861, Edo) depicting Yamaji Shogen Masakuni in his final battle.
I wanted to prove the quality of the past masters of woodblock printing could be replicated in Linocut, the lightness of touch and the fine detail, and this is the result. 

Printed on Hosho Select acid free Washi paper using the finest quality Caligo Safewash ink, this print is of the highest quality and will last for many, many years to come.

The image area is 280mm x 200 mm on 279 x 420 (A3) paper to fit a standard A3 Frame.
