Here is 'KIKK', my print of the most iconic of Japanese condiments, the Kikkoman Soy Sauce bottle.

Designed in 1961 by Kenji Ekuan, designer and graduate of the National University of Fine Arts & Music in Tokyo, this bottle is recognised as one of the finest ever pieces of post war functional design and is listed in the book WA - The Essence of Japanese Design.

Both beautiful and utilitarian, every aspect of the bottle has been designed with great care and attention. The cap itself took three years to design with over one hundred attempts before perfection of pour was achieved.

Made to be refilled, this bottle had to be timeless and enduring, able to grace the tables of homes and restaurants across the world without alteration for the next sixty years.

I have always loved the gentle curves and heavy glass of the Kikkoman bottle, and decided to preserve it in a piece of art using the traditional writing in Japanese script.

Printed on Shiramine Select acid free Washi paper using the finest quality Caligo Safewash ink, this print is of the highest quality and will last for many, many years to come.

The image area is 280mm x 200 mm on 279 x 4o0 (A3) paper to fit a standard A3 Frame.

The print run is limited to 200 and each print is an original, signed and numbered by myself, the artist.
